Warplanes of the USA: California, Chino, Yanks Air Museum
California Warplanes, Chino, Yanks Air Museum
Chino, Yanks Air Museum, Chino Airport Southwest Side, 7000 Merrill Avenue, Hangar A207, Box 35, 91710. (909) 597-1734. The museum aircraft have been restored in-house with great attention to detail so that both flying and static aircraft are considered exemplary examples of their type. Great care and effort has been made to conform to the original manufacturer’s specifications in all restoration projects. The existing museum campus extends over ten acres and includes 176,000 square feet of display space under roof including restoration and storage buildings with additional open-air storage areas. The collection now numbers over 170 aircraft. Work is now underway to create a second Yanks Air Museum facility in Greenfield, California. The facility will include 440 acres (1.8 km2), while the campus will be centered on the new 250,000-square-foot (23,000 m2) museum facility. An active airport will support both museum flight operations and the private aviation needs of museum visitors and local aviators. Other features of this master planned complex also include an advanced-technology education center, a quality level hotel and spa, winery, restaurants, service facilities, shops, and a recreational vehicle park.
