Salzberg

North American P-51D-30NA Mustang (Serial No. 44-74427), c/n 122-40967, ex-RCAF (Serial No. 9592), "Nooky Booky IV", Reg. No. F-AZSB.  Christian Amara, Nimes-Courbessac.  Airworthy.  This aircraft served with RCAF No. 403 and No. 422 Auxiliary Squadrons from 1950 to 1956, and then with the RCAF Air Armament School until its retirement in 1960.  It is painted in the colours of Major Leonard "Kit" Carson of the USAAF's 362nd Fighter Squadron, 357th Fighter Group.  F-AZSB was acquired from France on 6 March 2021.

An abandoned Henschel Hs 126B reconnaissance aircraft on an Austrian airfield in June 1945. The Hs was commonly used as an artillery observation aircraft early on in the war but by 1942 had been relegated to training and glider towing duties. In the background of this photograph are an Arado Ar 96 trainer in Hungarian markings and a Siebel Si 204 liaison aircraft.
