Douglas A-26C Invader (Serial No. 44-35937), L.  This A-26C-50-DT (converted to B-26C) was operated at one time by the 2347th ARFC (Air Reservist) out of Long Beach Municipal Airport, California.  It was with this group on 8 October 1955 when the ship was damaged during take-off due to a structural failure at McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey; John F. McCormick was the Pilot in Command.  The ship went to Chile and converted to a B-26D in 1958 as (Serial No. 846).  She subsequently became a gate guard at El Bosque AB, Santiago until she was removed from that mission and returned to the US.
