Boeing RB-47H-1-BW Stratojet (Serial No. 53-4299). After its retirement from active duty, this aircraft was on display at the former Schilling Air Force Base, near Salina, Kansas for many years. In 1988 it was moved to the National Museum of the United States Air Force and underwent restoration and put on display at the museum.

North American F-51D-5NA Mustang (Serial No. 44-13646), 127th Fighter Squadron, Kansas Air National Guard, at Wichita Municipal Airport. The NG designation on the fuselage indicates the photo was taken prior to the formation of the Air National Guard in September 1947.

Boeing B-29A-65-BN Superfortress (Serial No. 44-62166), 326th Bomb Squadron, 92nd Bombardment Group, photographed at Smoky Hill Army Airfield, Kansas, in 1946. This aircraft was later assigned to the 307th BW, but was lost in a crash near Ocho-o, South Korea due to engine fire on 22 July 1952.

Martin B-57C Canberra (Serial No. 53-3948) of the 117th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron, 190th Tactical Reconnaissance Group, Kansas Air National Guard in the 1960s. Engine start using pyrotechnic cartridges produced copious amounts of black smoke.

Republic Republic F-105D-10-RE Thunderchief (Serial No. 60-0521) of the 563rd Tactical Fighter Squadron, 23rd Tactical Fighter Wing, McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas, in 1971. This F-105D is a "Thunderstick II" conversion, which was easily distinguished from the standard -D model by the backbone electronics bay fairing from the cockpit to the vertical stabilizer. "Thunderstick II" allowed the aircraft to deliver ordnance under most flight conditions (speed, altitude and attitude) by automating weapons delivery and piloting. The aircraft in the photo crashed on 22 Dec 1976.
