It was delivered to the USAAC in 1934 and served with the 27th Pursuit Group at Selfridge Field, Michigan, and the 20th Pursuit Group at Barksdale Field, Louisiana, before being sent to the Panama Canal Zone. It served with the Guatemalan Air Force from May 1943 to 1957. First flown back in the USA in 1962.

Boeing B-50A-5-BO Superfortress (Serial No. 46-0010), “Lucky Lady II”, forward fuselage, in storage.  The first nonstop around-the-world flight was accomplished by the Lucky Lady II assigned to the 43rd Bomb Group.  The flight which lasted from 26 Feb to 2 Mar 1949, took 94 hours, 1 minute to complete. Lucky Lady II flew a route covering 23,452 miles and required numerous in-flight refuelings.

Messerschmitt Bf 109E (Wk. Nr.), built in 1939.  It was known to have flown in the Battle of France and the Battle of Britain as an E-1. After upgrade to an E-7 it was delivered to the Eastern Front where it was flown by the highly decorated German Pilot Wulf-Dietrich Widowitz.  He was shot down by a Hurricane while on an escort mission in 1942 . He made a near perfect, forced, wheels-up landing on the ice of a frozen lake.  The plane sank through the ice and came to rest on the lakebed.  Widowitz died more than a year later in another crash anding.  The aircraft remained untoched until its recovery in 2003.

Barnes in 1943.  The aircraft had been "bought" courtesy of war bonds purchased (to a value approximately equivalent to the cost of a fighter) by the citizens of Atlantic City, New Jersey.  Consequently, the name painted on the aircraft was chosen by Atlantic City.
