The aim of this website is to locate, identify and document Warplanes from the Second World War preserved in Ecuadoor.  Many contributors have assisted in the hunt for these aircraft to provide and update the data on this website.  Photos are as credited.  Any errors found here are by the author, and any additions, corrections or amendments to this list of Warplane Survivors of the Second World War in Ecuador would be most welcome and may be e-mailed to the author at hskaarup@rogers.com.

The former Ecuadorian AFB is now known as the Park Bicentenario-Ingresso Rafael Aulesia. Quito stands at 9,350ft above sea level, close to the equator.

Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina (28-5A), FAE (Serial No. 53602), No. 602. Three Catalinas were used by the air force of Ecuador and in addition to patrol duties flew T.A.M.E. missions to the Galapagos Islands.

North American TB-25J Mitchell (Serial No. 44-86866), c/n 108-47620, Reg. No. N9069Z; “Apache Princess“. This Mitchell,, painted in military markings, was impounded at Quito in 1965 for drug running. It was initially placed on display in the late-1970s and likely did not serve with the Ecuador Air Force.
