Boeing B-50A-5-BO Superfortress (Serial No. 46-0010), “Lucky Lady II”, forward fuselage, in storage.  The first nonstop around-the-world flight was accomplished by the Lucky Lady II assigned to the 43rd Bomb Group.  The flight which lasted from 26 Feb to 2 Mar 1949, took 94 hours, 1 minute to complete.  Lucky Lady II flew a route covering 23,452 miles and required numerous in-flight refuelings.

Captain Walker "Bud" Mahurin of the 56th Fighter Group standing on the port wing of his P-47 Thunderbolt aircraft, conversing with its crew chief, Staff Sergeant John E. Barnes in 1943.  The aircraft had been "bought" courtesy of war bonds purchased (to a value approximately equivalent to the cost of a fighter) by the citizens of Atlantic City, New Jersey.  Consequently, the name painted on the aircraft was chosen by Atlantic City.
