Hiller CH-112 Nomad (U-12E) three-place, military light observation helicopter in Canadian Army service (27), Serial Nos. 112262-11285.

The Nomad was first flown in 1948.

View of instrument panel of Hiller CH-112 Nomad Helicopter (Serial No. 112267).  This Nomad was deployed from CJATC Rivers, Manitoba, to Camp Wainwright, Alberta for the Summer Concentration in 1963.  112267 was one of several helicopters detached from Rivers to become 1 Canadian Infantry Brigade Group (1 CIBG) Helicopter Detatchment for the duration of the Concentration.

Hiller CH-112E Nomad helicopter (Serial No. 10266), on display at the Canadian National Exhibition, Toronto, Ontario, ca 1955.  10266 was struck off strength with the Canadian Armed Forces on the 6th of February after being badly damaged in an accident at CJATC Rivers, Manitoba on 19 December, 1967 while being used by the Basic Helicopter Training Unit.

Hiller CH-112 Nomad, Canadian Army (Serial No. 112282), hanging at 3 CFFTS Portage la Prairie.  Painted as 282, this Nomad was assigned to 4 CIBG Germany.   It crashed in Germany on 3 Dec 1963, having nosed over after a forced landing.
